Brake Light Bulb Replacement

My 2012 SEL has a brake light out and was wondering if anyone know how to remove the light assembly to I can replace it myself. I took it to the dealership and they wanted me to leave it there the whole day.... For a bulb.

Any help appreciated.

Open the trunk or hatch look behind where the light would be there should be some type of screws behind a little panel (matches the carpet trim) unscrew them and the light should pop out.

I saw some plastic pieces behind a panel that appeared to be some kind of nut but for the life of me I couldn't get them to turn. Didn't want to take a tool to them for fear of breaking them.

A flat head screwdriver should work or some pliers. Just careful they are plastic.

Mine were in super tight from the factory. Get the widest flat screwdriver you can and they'll pop loose.

Okay, I'll try that... Any idea the cost of the replacement bulb?
