Major overhaul stereo system
Hello everyone i'm new to FocusFanatics but not new to owning a Focus. This is my second one. I used to have a 02 Silver SVT that was pretty fun and then got rid of it, bounced around some cars and now I'm back into another Focus. I currently have a 07 ZX3 and I am re-doing my stereo system in it. The system currently has JL and Polk Audio components. Being that I've had this equipment for 11 years now it is time to rebuild. Thought some of you guys might get a kick out of this new build. The new system is consisting of Morel speakers. So far I have the 3 way Morel Elate 603 installed. I have mounted the tweeter and 3 inch midrange in custom made a pillers.
This is a build that is currently going on and I'm not sure how long this is going to take. I have narrowed it down to the speakers I am going to use. Still trying to decide on the amps that are going to be used. (Either JL or Genesis). On a side note can someone please explain to me how to post pictures because I have pictures of the build in process that I would like to post. Thanks everyone. |

^ agreed ... Having Speakers in the A pillars definitely will bring the sound stage upward towards the ear for a more surround feel , I love Morel with a passion , heard a 12 speaker setup in a Escalade , had Morel 2 " soft dome tweets , 2" mid bass, and Focal 6.5s and it was the cleanest crisp sound i have heard to this day

I tested them with different angles and mainly they just looked horrible. The pods were just going to be really big. With the speakers on the dash there really doesn't need to be a massive angle.
The Morels that are being used are the Elate 603 three ways. The 3-ways consist of a 1.8" silk tweeter, 3.4" silk dome midrange and a 6.5" mid-bass. Right now I am using a JL3004 bi-amped to break the speakers in. Next I will be working on installing the rear speakers, Morel Hybrid Integra 602 (6.5" coax) |
