Question About Clearing MyKey Settings

I've been visiting this site from home and work for the past 4 months and finally decided to join today.

There has been a lot of helpful (fold flat seats, etc.) and entertaining posts (lounge, etc.) and I hope to contribute to the community!

So here's my current issue: Yesterday I went to install winter tires on my vehicle (used Volvo Columbia wheels and 205-60-R16 tires). I wanted to keep track of how many km's I would put on my winters so I decided to try the "MyKey" feature as it looked like it kept track of how many km's you drove (also on the info screen it said I had 2 MyKeys - Titanium IA Keys btw).

Lo and behold I did not like all the restrictions and notifications popping up left and right so I immediately went home to use my other "Admin Key" IA key to clear the MyKey settings.

So I took the other "Admin Key" and started my vehicle, but it always starts up as a "MyKey" activated vehicle for some reason?! (the drive safely notification pops up and everything). On my info screen it says I have 1 Mykey and 1 Admin Key so I am unsure of how to proceed?

Did you have both keys on your person close enough to start the car? That could be why it still started with the I.a. key set to the my key settings. Try keeping the second key (the one that's programmed as a child/ valet key) away while starting the car, do you have the remote start system and is that the only admin key if you inadvertently programmed all your i.a keys as mykeys? If you have an admin key you can clear all mykey settings and unlock the other key fob if you can start the car with the admin key first.

Basically the MyKey system is not intended to track miles driven on winter wheels but rather to restrict volume, speed, and other things with warning chimes and a hard speed limiter at 80 mph when set.

Hello thanks for the reply. The "MyKey" is pretty far from the car, at least 8 meters or 24 feet away.

I do not have remote start system. I assumed my other key is an Admin Key because the system currently says I have 1 MyKey and 1 AdminKey. Although I did buy the vehicle used and it only came with 1 key and the dealer bought another key for me and programmed it for me.. (So maybe the other Admin Key is actually lost and this key which I thought was an Admin Key is a troll key?)

Looks like I may have to go back to the dealer.

Yes, I realized the MyKey primary function was not to track mileage but it was so frustrating when the trip counter resets at 2000 km haha
