You're incredibly lucky that the buy-back process was quick. Nissan has thrown me around for 2 months. Congratulations on your buy-back, although I know you were frustrated with your Focus. I hope you find something you enjoy and I hope that the Focus is that car for me.

Honestly, I mentioned it once to the Ford 800 number and they said that they'd start it if I wanted. I then talked to the dealer and it took a day. I called on Friday, the manager was out, he called me Saturday and offered to let me mail the paperwork (they had my car). I opted to drive up on Monday and sign it over and get the check.

I bought a used 2012 Fusion Sport and so far I love everything but the mileage.

You sir are a lucky man. I would take that in a heartbeat. The transmission fix is still working, but now I get the random times when reverse does not work, which the dealer could never fix. I have to restart the car in order for reverse to work again. Now I'm over 36k and waiting for things to just start falling off the car. It rattles like my grandfathers old 60's pickup, which of course the dealer could never fix.

I am lucky, but I don't mind hearing it.

I kept complaining about it and I finally found a dealer who agreed with me that there were problems with the transmission. Ford authorized a tear down and inspection of the transmission. What they found were several damaged parts, most of which were the main cause of the grinding, shuddering, and rattling noises. Most of the parts were replaced shift rails, shift forks, bearings, clutches, etc....you name it and it was replaced. So, after 35 days I finally got it back yesterday and so far it is perfect. I can honestly say that after 12 months of futility I finally have a smooth, quiet, transmission....whether it stays that way or not, well only time will tell.
