Unhappy My 12 is down

Well I kind of have some good news for anyone that has the VCT transmission in there focus. I think my local dealership might have an answer with shuttering issue with the transmission in the focuses'. Now I will be without my car probably 6 days max, but that will determine if they figure out why on mine like to yank itself out of gear when coming from a stop to a start. And on top of that when I turn off my A/C the idle on the car sits at 2300 RPM's for 2 minutes and then settles back to normal.

Now the service advisor told me that they think they have figured out why those style trans are shuttering. He said that the area where the clutch sits have been known to leak trans fluid on to the clutches and that would cause the shuttering issue. So if that fixes that issue hopefully that would possibly correct the other.

So as of right now, sitting here waiting on rental car place to pick me up. Good thing there is a warranty still left on my car. Or I would really f'd with the bill. I will keep you guys posted on the results.

Moved to Mk3 TSB, Recalls, and Problems Archive.

This is a known fix, but thanks for posting nonetheless. Hopefully your dealer can get it fixed correctly for you because when the DCT is acting properly it is actually really nice!
