well cleaned my battery terminal. that made starting it quicker but still having a battery light come on and a rough idle that causes it to stall out sometimes. i changed the plugs. there looked to be rust? on the nut part of the old plugs. going to change the coil pack and clean the MAF tomorrow.

correction I cleaned and tightened my neg terminal. I read somewhere that foci need a cadmium silver battery. could this be a problem.

No it doesn't need a special battery, have you checked the PCV hose yet?

I have had the alternator checked and checked the pcv hose. It didn't seem to be collapsed but i couldn't really tell. the ford mechanic seems to think its either a messed up MAF sensor or the cams weren't set right when whoever last changed the timing belt

Yeah, but I'd think that a timing problem would've been evident when you drove it away after the timing belt job. It's not something that will develop over time.
You can replace the PCV line with plastic elbows and line for about $10. You should also replace the PCV itself since it can become clogged and cause these problems without any evidence of issues on the hose.

Just found the vac leak i feel stupid for not noticing. the EGR valve has a bolt on the bottom that had come loose and fallen down causing the Vac leak. the timing belt is still slapping the top of the timing cover every now and then and now I have discovered that the radiator fan is not coming on.

ive had this issue happen several times , under different circumstances. it almost always does it for a while when i disconnect the battery to reset the ecu , and then sometimes it does it after gassing up at crappy stores. no idea , i just deal with it when it happens.
