need help asap

so I took off my needles to do my gauge faces, and i knew theyd get messed up so i left it and planned to just calibrate them right this weekend. i came across a new problem though, my speedometer jumps now. instead of slowly climbing through the speeds, it literally stops and the jumps up 10 at a time. its annoying. anyone else had/solved this? any help would rule
