I had started it, just didn't have any pictures of the installation, as my friend kept not being able to come over and schedule issues with everyone else!

on an 06 you need a 7 and 8 socket to take the surround off, then the hatch release jsut pops out. Then you just need to run the pwer to a switched source. One that is either powered with the key or when the headligts are tuned on(your choice really). Fortuneatly I had already ran gauges, so I was able to tap into them. You can always look in the manual and find a fuse for a switched source and use an add-a-fuse and run it that way.

His PDF migt be more helpful. But this could get you started.

unwire the stock cluster then wire in yours?

I'm sorry, I was finishing a bunch of stuff last night!

There is no "wiring," but there is a faceplate change and addition of bulbs. I have a write-up for this done as well. It takes around an hour to do the swap.

All I can say if after seeing your work, and taking apart my upper and lower HVAC, you do amazing work! Those smd's in my lower HVAC soldered onto the circuit board have to be a real pain to switch. I cant wait for the funds for upper and lower hvacs and zx5 locks, windows and sunroof buttons all in red! Maybe a hatch button to!
