Ford Accessory DRLs

The online Ford Accessory site is listing a DRL (they call it accent light) kit with a Ford part number (VDV6Z-13200-B). It looks like the Echomaster DRL kit in the one picture in the catalog. The SRP is $299.00, so the discounters should be selling it for $225.00 or so.

I just got the echomaster kit last week for $190 or so shipped (with coupon code) from Truckfancy. Installed this past weekend. Nice kit. They look good.

the majority of DRL kits on ebay are horrible piles of crap however. take a look at the echomaster ones and you'd see the difference

If the Ford accessory is close enough in price to the Echomaster, I would probably go with the Ford part. I figure that if a genuine Ford accessory is properly installed there is less chance of the dealer or Ford giving me a hard time if I have electrical problems later. (Not that MK3s are prone to electrical problems.)

Got mine last Friday from Truckfancy.com using the promo code. (Code:"CTF52" makes them $194 shipped). Thanks everyone for your input and ordering information. I love how easy this forum makes getting the right part at the right price. I installed the DRL's tonight. It took me a couple of hours since I'm pretty careful.

NOTES:
1) I didn't follow the instructions that you can download from TruckFancy.com. They have you cut wires. The Echomaster instructions don't have you cut any wires. The DRL's work as advertised.

2) There is one error in the Echomaster instructions, the wiring diagram shows the black wire going to the fuse box and the red wire going to ground. The correct way is RED to fuse box and BLACK to ground. It's an easy error to spot since the black wire has the round terminal end installed already as shown in the pictures.

3) It wasn't clear at first to me how to install the fuses in the "add a fuse". The original 15amp fuse removed from the car is plugged in underneath the new 3amp fuse.
