brake light on while in gear
I have seen lots of problems with cars but this one is new to me. My brake lights work just fine while my car is in park: meaning when I press the brake they turn on (all exept the third brake light it doesn't seem to be working). The odd part is, when i put it in gear the brake lights stay on until the car is put back in park. What could be the proble? I know there is a brake "switch" by the brake pedal, however why would it work in park fine but screw up in gear?

^ Fix this first. You likely have a short in the wiring harness that goes from the car body to the rear hatch lid (in the sill between the hatch hinges). The harness flexes and breaks or cracks over time.
