Help Needed 1.8TDCI 2003 Focus
Hi all I was driving back from my mother in-laws last night when after about 45mins of driving I lost all drive and power I noticed on the dashboard the (coil?) light was going on and off. As the car came to a stop it wouldn't re-start.
I contacted recovery who tried to get it going again, they managed to get it to start using easystart, which they said shows the engine is still good, they then thought it was fuel pump although fuel is still getting into the right place apparently they think it isn't enough pressure. Anyway got towed home and dropped the car off at local garage, (who I am still waiting to call me back) I was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue or similar and what it was to get it fixed also how much it cost. Its a UK model. Thanks peeps |

The flashing glow plug light is supposed to indicate a fault code has been stored by the ECU (so I've read. No diesels on this side of the pond.) Fuel injectors/ injector circuit or fuel pump is the usual culprit for the condition you describe. No coil on a diesel. :)

Thanks for that, at least this gives me an idea of what to expect when the garage phone me up today to tell me the news.
