Cracked Cluster lens

So I was able to buy an instrument cluster with a tach from Ebay with the exact same miles as I have on my focus. Pretty sweet right considering I haven't had a tach on any of my vehicles in a long time. It is being shipped right now and will arrive sometime next week.

Well, the catch is it has a smallish crack in the lens.
The crack is near the push button thing in the middle.


My questions to all of you: Will I be able to swap lenses with my old cluster or can I possibly repair the smallish crack?

Perhaps an acrylic resin will fill and repair the crack?

I bought one off eBay with a few more miles than mine. Just waiting to hit that number before I install it.
I was disassembling my new one to CF wrap the gauge bezel. I heated the glue to pull the clear lens off. It was going smooth till I pulled to hard on a part that had cooled. I broke it!
It looks like the lens from the stock bezel will fit just fine. I'm sure it's the same size once removed from the bezel. Just take your time pulling it apart.

So use a heat gun around the edges and slowly pry it off?

That's what I did. I used a very small flat head to pry it apart after heating.

Yes it will swap just fine. As mentioned be very careful cuz it cracks super easy. Start near a corner and slowly heat and lift. You can use toothpicks or whatever as spacers to keep the lens separated as you work your way around.
