So I think I need a resonator.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought an FSWerks race pipe and had an exhaust shop install it plus run pipe straight out the back. Basically, all I have is the catalytic converter in the manifold. I'm all in for roughly 50% of an FSWerks race exhaust.

The car sounds great at start-up and when the car is warm and has been driven for a while. The only problem I am having is acceleration when cold. The deep tone is there plus another higher pitched tone is overlayed on top. This happens when accelerating from a stop to around 35mph. It almost sounds like an exhaust rattle like when a heat shield breaks, but I know nothing is wrong with that respect. It is almost embarrassing because people probably think there is a problem with my car.

The only difference between my exhaust and the FSWerks race system is a resonator around the rear subframe. I'm thinking this is the problem since I never had this high pitched tone when I had an FSWerks system.

Does anyone happen to know the dimensions of the FSWerks resonator, or could someone be a pal and measure it for me? I want to make sure I get one similar in size and moreso I want to make sure it will fit due to overall body shape.

I contacted a sale rep at CFM and they said the resonator on the race exhaust has a body length of 14" and a case diameter of 6". Can someone confirm for me?
