So lately I been thinking about rebuilding now. Car has been sitting for a few months for sale with no luck and am not going to get what I want out of it, and miss the hell out of driving the car.
Been doing a bit of research and putting together a list of parts and what not. And so far this is what I'm thinking.

Add gaskets, bearings, and machine work where needed, an orp and exhaust to that. Now not everything will be put on at the same time as I am on a pretty tight budget, they will come eventually though. Like the cfm TB, tsm intake, etc..

Car will be staying n/a, adding a little bit of performance here and there.
raise compression with a standard zetec head gasket. Believe that = to 10.70-10.75:1 compression range.
Get a valve job, do a little port work to the head.
Delete the vct add adjustable cam gears(now on that. If you delete the vct, can you in turn use standard zetec cam gears on the svt cams? Or are they different?)
Delete the awful PVC system they have and also a tsm intake manifold to get rid of the dsi system.
Plus a little more, but I can't think of everything right now

Cool. Glad you are keeping it.

What's the advantage of no more VCT?

You know, im not quite 100% sure the advantages. But from what I have read on it. Is that the vct was added purely for emissions. (If im wrong somebody correct me) and deleting it gives you more cam and tuning options, to add adjustable cam gears for consistent valve timing. Plus its a lot cheaper then a replacement vct module, which I am not sure if mine has ever worked correctly or not!

So last night after work I decided to go to the whole and start tearing it down to get it ready to pull the engine. Next time I make it to the shop in he next couple days I should be able to get it all pulled.

Today I was finally able to get out and get the engine pulled and partially taken down. So far everything is looking pretty good on the top end. Have not got the head pulled but from the look of things it all looks in order. Next time I get out to work on it I will get the head pulled and then flip it over and dig into the bottom end. Hopefully all goes well there but im not betting it

Wow. You've been a busy guy. Lol

I am curious to see the insides. Maybe get a better idea of what to expect when I tear mine out.

Yeah man, same here. Just trying to get it pulled apart so I can see what I need. And hopefully the damage isn't to severe. In the process of pulling it I found I had a trashed passenger side motor mount, cv shaft and lower ball joint

How long did it take you to get as far as you are in disassembly?
