theres a very real possibility of both, if there were air in the lines it would feel more or less "spongy" than slipping, my car has 138,xxx and thats about when my clutch started going out, the svtf's are notorious for the clutches going out early, hope this helps

maybe a master cylinder. ive been through two already. look for play in the pedal and hard engagement into gears. i have an 02 svt focus and i still have a hydraulic problem with mine the pedal has play and sometimes theres alot of play and the clutch hooks up right off the floor, and somedays theres less play where it engages a little higher. and why do you say your aftermarket mounts were a mistake?
