Question Swap OEM radio for MFT

As anybody successfully (or unsuccessfully) swapped out the stock SE radio for a MFT 8" screen radio? I was thinking about checking out the scrap yard to see if I could find one. Not sure if it would be plug-n-plug. Also, would there be a difference between different years?

I'm going to check out the harnesses for both if nobody has done this before. The problem I see is that the SE radio has less speakers than the Sony and the MFT so there may be an issue with the amplifier, but I was planning on installing a sub and new speakers anyhow with a new amp down the road.

Thanks

Hahaha forgot I chose that as my username.

I found THIS thread where somebody was trying to change the non-nav MFT to the nav version, but I didn't see anything about changing from non-MFT to MFT. Looks like my best bet is to get it from a scrapped vehicle anyway.

I've been looking up photos of units on eBay, and it looks like the stereo connectors are the same, not sure about the MFT module.

I'm interested in this as well, my a model radio is nice but the big screen is so much nicer.

Looks like nobody has tried this for a SE. Seems like it may be a big headache though having the radio tied to the VIN and connections possibly varying. I will definitely make a write-up if I end up doing it. Depends on how cheap I can get the unit.

Has anyone successfully replaced the automatic climate control module in a se trim without my touch? Even if the head unit replacement is too complicated, I am curious about the auto climate control

@aktoronto
I think there is some electronic software change involved, not just the hardware
