2005 Wagon is being WEIRD

There's about 130,000 miles on it.
Sometimes when I try to accelerate or even maintain my speed going up hill, the engine hesitates and will . It is not violent. If I push down the gas and hold the pedal steady, the car will stutter like it can't grab onto whatever it needs to get into the next gear to go faster. If, let's say, it happens while I am trying to accelerate from 30mph up to 50 mph, it will stutter in between 30 and 40 mph for maybe 10 seconds to one minute and then finally it feels like something grabs and it speeds up like it should. It seems to happen more in rainy or wet conditions and it seems to happen for a day or two every one to two weeks. The check engine light is on because of this.

ANY IDEAS!?!?!

Let me know if more info would help. Thank you!

Nathan

pull the codes yourself or take it to auto zone or somewhere and have them pull the codes for you to see what the check engine light is on for. My car was doing something similar a couple weeks ago,and it finally got to the point where it would die and not restart for a minute or two. ended up being the fuel pump and code PO 191 was in the computer when the check engine light came on. Might not be your issue at all,but the code stored in the computer should at least point you in the general direction.

People here plenty glad to help but if you don't help yourself with that light you get in the way of that. There are people who will read it for free.

Write the actual code down or come back to say 'I think it was that one or something like that', which may make your situation worse. You should be leaning over the tester's shoulder to see that exact code yourself.
