Help! 2003 Ford Focus ZX5 - O2 sensor

ok I have a 2003 ford focus zx5 2.0l dual overcam.....heres my problem.

got the sensor 1 bank 1 error, so we replaced both O2 sensors, the upstream and downstream.

my car still idles funny and rough and the check engine light is on.


any ideas/suggestions of what we can try next before i am forced to take it into the dealership.

Try checking the PCV hose. It's known to cause idle and lean issues along with bad gas mileage. Here is a thread about it HERE

It's a how to on how to change the hose. This will help you find where the hose is so you can feel what shape yours is in and how to change it.

ok, replaced the hose, still no better.

Any other ideas?

The Idle Air Control valve would be my next guess. You can try removing it and cleaning it. That may help or even fix it. They are kind of pricey so that's why a lot of us clean them. Most of the time it works. You can clean it with Brake Cleaner and a little brush. Here is a how to on replacing it. You don't have to take the intake manifold off but it's a tight squeeze. LINK

alright we will try that the pics i think confused me more then most but my bf will figure it out, he is a die hard Camaro fan and works on his 82. so this is new to him but he is appreciating all the help and photos.
