Disconnecting negative terminal on the 2012 Focus

Is there an easier way to do this on this car?
I'm going to be doing a speaker and amp install but the negative terminal is tucked away. It looks like I'd have to remove the battery itself to get the terminal off.

Is it ok to disconnect it where the battery grounds to the body?

you could do it that way, but id suggest disconnecting it at the battery. My reasoning behind this is GROUND. car grounds are finicky. If its working now and you go messing with the ground yu may have trouble later.

How easy is it to get that other half of the battery cover off?
Is it just clipped in like the first half?
