Opinions on Torque Dampers?
I see they cost about $200 and promise smoother shifts and reduced shock on tranny components. Does anyone have one and does it make a noticeable difference in shifts?

Do they even make one for the SVT? I've only seen ones modified to fit, but I'm definitely no expert on the platform. I know on the 06 Civic Si's they supposedly made a world of difference and reduced wheel hop, but I have no first hand experience with them.

I've looked them up on Summit Racing, the damper itself is from Ingalls Engineering and supposedly it fits the SVT Zetec.

I had one on my ZTS (Ingalls Stiffy) but I made brackets to fit (not a Focus kit).
I did notice an improvement but it did squeak like crazy. |

Wheel hop has very little to do with engine movement. That is a problem of control arm bushing deflection and/or springs/dampeners.
I would say that the $200 could be applied elsewhere for better results. Is there a problem you're trying to address? |

Nope, no problems with the car at all. I was just trying to get an idea of what people do and don't add on their SVT's. But the reduced shock to the transmission/clutch wouldn't hurt either.

I'd add a vf engineering dogbone. Makes the shifts smoother.
