Backup Camera as MFT Wallpaper (You're Jelly, I Know)

The other day I was heading home, and I got an error on my instrument cluster display. "Parking Aid Malfunction. Service Required." Great. This again. So I was headed home, and decided to see what the car would do if I pressed a few buttons.

I pressed the Parking Sensors button a few times, and nothing happened. I pressed the Park Assist button, and the screen changed to my backup camera view (instead of Searching screen), and an error said there was a problem. It went back to the radio, but it kept the backup camera rolling in the background!

TURN DOWN YOUR SOUND.

Also, this was taken while driving, so I wasn't paying much attention to what I was doing with my phone.

I can't get my car to do it again, as the sensor malfunction is sporadic. I took it to the dealer, and there are no error logs. Bummer. They did a few software updates, though. The last updates to my car were for the recall for the DCT, so you may have some, too.

So you're saying that inadvertently MFT allowed you to drive around with the camera on display just like a Range Rover?

YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

Of course that car has 5 cameras and you can purposefully drive around that way.

The bit with the cameras starts at 7:30, but it didn't embed properly.

Of all the things that I'd want, it's that.

The ability to flip on cameras on demand is actually pretty useful.

Well, this shows that the camera feed is always going to the unit. If someone has experience, they could add an option to MFT for this. I understand decompiling code is rather tedious, though.

Hey, zehkaiser -

Thanks for providing video. I have a couple questions for you, which software level are you on and does your Focus have a manual transmission?

Automatic transmission. My latest software update was for recall 12B37 (not sure if that included a MFT update). Build date of Mar 6 2012. I will confirm the software version when I pick up my car on Saturday.

I don't think you can get a manual transmission focus with MyFord touch AND backup camera, can you?
