Backup Sensors, anyone else ?
When I back out of a parking space, the little screen by the speedo says - Backup Sensors On. When I put it in Drive, the screen normally changes to reflect Mpg or whatever. 3 times so far, the screen has failed to change, it continues to say Backup Sensors On, even though I'm driving forward. When I finally get to a stop light, I turn the car off & back on, then everything works correctly again. Anyone else seen this?

Mine is the opposite where the "Backup Sensors On" dialog never popped out. When I did the fuse pull to fix the Navigation/MFT errors, it seems to have "fixed" it as well. Might wanna try that.

I've got a Ti and have never seen any messages on the info. screen about the sensors - though I suppose I'm usually looking at the mirror or camera when I'm backing up... something to check later.

This is on the SEL and Titanium without the parking package. It says "rear park aid" on the IP screen and a selection to turn it on or off.
I have had it happen about 5 times since I have owned the car, and it's annoying when you don't see that it's locked up and going down the highway you can't use the message center. Only way to fix it is pull over and restart. It's one of the many issues on the list for my car. |

make sure your car is cleaned and the sensors are not dirty or covered. this could be an easy cause of the sensors not working properly, its happened to owners in snow already, where even a thin layer of snow on the front and back rendered the sensors useless.

Same thing has happened to me. Started about 2 months after I got my car and it happens maybe once in every 50 times I shift from Reverse to Drive. I had the problem on my list of problems when I took the car into my dealer last month - - but of course it wouldn't happen when they tried to replicate the problem.

My car tells me there is a backup camera fault and to visit my dealer when I put it in reverse sometimes. The only problem is, I don't have a backup camera. lol
