Is anyone here using nitrous? Wondering if our motor can hold spray or not

I will be running nitrous eventually, but Im also running high comp pistons and forged rods.

Will the stock motor hold spray? What's the limit on our cars? 40-50hp?

Im sure it will but anytime you deal with nitrous you have to deal with the risks involved. Ive seen people melt plugs, develop pings, knocks, and all sorts of issues involved with detonation. Probably not a bad idea to find out if there is any kind of management that has to be done to the ecu before you decide to just plug and play on a stock motor.

You NEED a wet system with our motor and your will NEED a tune. I think people can generally do about a 50 shot on a stock motor but start out with a 25 or equal shot. I think there have been a few people with proper tuning that have gotten a 75 shot. a rule of thumb I have heard is usually you dont want to put more than a shot that is 50% more than the normal HP of the motor.

Seeing how our stock block and pull 400 WHP with FI I don't see why it cannot handle a shot, and do any street cars use dry anymore? Wet more affordable and easier I think ZEX is the popular one now and there 50 shots are like 49-50 WHP and there kits run 600-700? with all the diffrent injection.


Edit: Why do you even want n2o just go turbo get better fuel millage and less stress on the car... Keep the money for a wet n2o kit and wait till tax return...

Who do you know getting 400WHP on a stock block? at 325-350 the stock fuel system fails to provide the fuel needed requiring a return fuel system. Usually your only good for 12-14 PSI of boost on a stock motor.

and that will not give you 400WHP.
