Exhaust help

So I recently bought a 2001 focus se 4 door with a blown engine for 500 I bought the car around April and replaed the whole motor and put a new clutch in ad all that good stuff an it runs perfectly I love the car and everything about it. But now I wanna do some exhaust work but I was just wondering if I took my muffler off how would it sound with a stock exhaust no muffler has anyone ever tried this? Please let me know how it sounds via video maybe? Or however explanations please?:)

look on youtube i saw a video of one with no muffler but didnt sound very good but then thats from video:) i hav cat back 2.5pipe with dc sports muffler an resonator sounds pretty good.

Where did you buy from I was looking around on buying an exhaust for my focus. Do you have a 4 door se? Or....?

i have lx sedan. i had local exhaust shop build it for me an bought the muffler from advance.Later i found out the any catback exhaust for the zx3 will work to it just has to be lengthnd.May be the better route??

Yeah I was thinking about having a custom one build but does it cost more? Sound better? Perform better?

i think i ended up spending around 300$ I got the resonator put on later because it was so loud.I think i would also go with smaller pipe too.2.5 is overkill with so litle horsepower.It def sounds better an seemed to gain little power but then its an spi so.....

Yeah I was looking into a straight pipe 2" no muffler or resonator and then swap my old exhaust on in like December when I need it inspected again cause I feel like it wouldn't pass without the muffler cause of smog bullshit

well where i live you only get one inspection when u first buy it then never again so i wasnt thinking bout smog.But if u hav spi just be warned that wit strait pipe they are LOUD so if u travel any it gets seriously annoying an will give passengers headaches :)
