Nut For Rear Drum Removal
I am looking at the correct size socket needed to remove the rear spindle nut. it looks like there are conflicting information either 29mm or 30mm. I don't have either so will need to pick it up regardless. I need to remove the drum from the spindle because I believe I need a new drum (still the stock drum after 170k miles...) and want to get a new drums (Centric Drums, have their Power Slot's up front and love them! so figured I would stay with that company) while going with some more aggressive rear shoes (Porterfield R4S).
Just want to make sure I buy the right size of socket. I have a 5 foot beaker bar I can use and have a TQ Wrench that goes up to the 150 ft lbs, so should be able to take it to that and then move over to a beaker bar and turn it another 30* or so of a turn to hit the 185 mark. thanks!

My car's the same year as yours and I used a 30mm deep socket. Haven't used it since. To be positive, you could measure the nut before you buy the socket.

I went thru 3 rear drums before I went back to OEM because of bearings. If you use after market and bearing goes bad just go back to OEM, the drum is fairly useless to go after market, better off swapping to disk, some guys sell the kits on the used items for sale forums here, like $250 to $300 for the parts minus the rotor and pads.
High speed stopping on rear drums make them get the squeal sound from being polished to death. and you cannot cut them. I bought a 29mm myself and worked... but I can see a 30 working to.. when that big that little difference is hard to tell

Perhaps I will do more searching on the FS section.. either way I need to / want to take the nut off. Its going to be soaking in PB blaster for the next few weeks till payday (both the 30mm nut and the 13mm bolts for the spindle).
Car is not going any where... I am waiting on a performance oil pump from C-F-M so the block is only about as far as it can go until they get that in stock again. Looking at other work I can do.
