Questions about CAI

I have been looking into buying a CAI for my focus but was wondering would it possibly cause any warranty problems? Also I was looking at Steeda I noticed they make both a ram air intake and a cai which would be better? Also, has anyone seen any noticeable increase in hp or mpg?

Use the search bar. Check out the dyno thread in the 2012 performance thread. I went with the Steeda with the heat shield so I don't get heat soak. Just look around and you will find what your looking for.

Thanks for the information would you say it was worth the $300 price tag? Also will it make much difference in engine noise because these cars are way too quiet for my taste.

It will make a BIG difference in engine noise. Whether it's worth the $300 is up to you, but there's really no cheaper way to add that kind of hp to the 2012 Focus. I paid $250 for my K&N intake, and I feel it was worth it.

As for the cost benefit, it depends on what you are willing to do, you can get a better/price to performance with other options, but more work.

The only way a CAI will void your warranty is if it is directly the cause of a problem. Other wise you are fine, read the magnuson-moss warranty act to see more about why.
