Checked Ebay-- lots of used 3rd gen Foci

For anyone interested in saving some money, apparently the rental cars are hitting the market now. There's pages of certified pre-owned Focis with 20-29k miles on them. I'm a bit shocked that the advertised prices aren't lower. I'd wait until the last few weeks of Dec. After 1-1, the dealers will have to pay a tax on the cars that are on the lots. That means they will be really willing to deal around Christmas- a normally slow time of the year for car sales anyway. I hope someone uses that to their advantage and walks away with a 20k mile 2012 for $15k or less.

You surely can save a lot of money, but there's no way I'd buy a used rental car, have you seen how people drive those things?

^+1 I would just wait and save enough money to get a new one instead. A rental car wouldn't feel right to me.

My 2012 SEL is actually a previous rental car! This is my second rental car bought. I can safely say I am perfectly happy about it. They have to fully take care of the car inside and out. When I got it they put brand new tires, brand new ford brakes and had it up and running as if new. I saved enough that it was worth it for me.

I didn't get any rebates either, or 0%.

I also did not get much off.
What I DID gain though was the color I wanted: Blaze Yellow, the manual tranny SE with sport package i wanted..
Rental cars do NOT come with manual transmissions... At least not in the USA.
I was at a local healthfood restaurant, and three 3rd gen Foci lined up next to me. All of the other three were rentals!!

Fact. At least, not as a Focus.

EDIT: This is, of course, a fallacy.
