I highly doubt it's impossible, we're talking about a computer here. It should be a simple matter of flashing a different version of MFT as long as the proper tools are available to do it.

As for v3.2.2, climate control is broken but everything else has been pretty stable for me so far.

My complaint after 3.02, comunicated through SMR, was "will be addressed on next update".
This feature has returned in v3.2.2. At least on my system. As with anything MFT-related, YMMV.

I wish the SDK was available for us to look at. I do not know much about embedded software, but damn how hard can it be when all the hardware is identical! I program for several different computers and my software works better than this crap they sold us!

Man, I would go back even farther and take v2.11. The negatives of the very rare "volume creeping up" glitch I had would be far outweighed by the positives of getting all of the lost features/functions back, for me at least. Hell, I still have my A1 Nav card.......

The question is. Once you've upgraded to 3.22 will the system prevent you from installing a 3.02 that someone still has on a thumbdrive or can upload somewhere?

If so. Is there a file version we can change on one of the files on the Thumbdrive so it looks like a newer version that whats installed. i.e. 3.02 audit file renamed to 3.23 so that MFT will see it as an update and install.

This would be Fords easiest and quickest fix for MFT ...seems like it only gets worse with the updates. I still use v2.10 and it works great with no issues ...I will probably never upgrade it. I bet if people had the chance to choose this would be the most popular choice by far. I love MFT the way it was sold to me, but not the updated v3 crap!

No. You can't just put a 3.0.2 upgrade into your car - it'll say it's already installed or that the version installed is an earlier version than the one on your car.

If only it were as simple as renaming the files and re-installing it.

Personally, I like 3.0.2 better than 2.11 because it plays nice with my phone. And the iPod scrolling and address entering in 3.2.2 has also vastly improved.

P,

There's gotta be some file on that thumb-drive that's giving MFT version information for it to realize what your trying to install is an earlier version.

An old trick of flashing firmware on another Media device I have at home was to rename a certain audit file to show a higher numeric value than what was installed and it would install it. Otherwise it would just do the same as our MFT and say that the version were trying to install is too old.

I fear that it's somehow hard-coded/linked/encrypted in more than one file and there's some weird checksum file size black magic that's over my head.
