Alls I can say is, they take 1 step forward, and 5 steps back. You have computer nerds everywhere developing apps/websites/security/databases/encryptions/codes, etc and making $$bank$$, no probs there. But this seems to be the most challenging thing in the world, to get MFT to work correctly. Are they just stupid?

I did the update. My car is a May 2012 build. It said it was done and to hit "ok" which I did, but then it got hung up on step 4. I let it sit for a while with no progress, took out the USB and restarted the car. It seems to be working just fine. My climate control is there and functional.

Does your Climate Temp show in the Home screen in the lower right corner or does it only show the Power button now? (like your first screen shot)

That is hilarious I just did it too, and made a video showing that my climate controls do not show-up/highlighted when the system is on!

September 2011. But how does that affect the MFT, isn't it all the same?

Downloaded the update from SMR and it installed in a breeze no hiccups.

When I took the pic the system was off, it's working fine for me.

Is there an alternative link to the download for those of us without Active X? (AKA Mac, Linux, etc)
