I expect wear like experienced on the Toyota trucks but even those hold up for 100k miles or several years before they show wear but c'mon,4 months into ownership.

I'm getting some of the same wear, but on the other side of the seat in the grey area and the only way it could have happened is because of how I carry my wallet.

Back pocket that slides to the side when I sit on it.

I've started taking my wallet out. Much more economical solution than seat covers, but I agree that for seat covers those look pretty darn good.

It's still bad that I have that kind of wear the prematurely and a wallet in the pocket shouldn't cause the issue. Cheap is the cause.

Hmmm... Maybe I should re-think whether I want cloth seats in a Focus.

That's strange, never seen it before. Mine are still perfect after 8000km.

[QUOTE=RonMaiden;4368100]We've had the car since May and have 4000 miles on it and we noticed about a month ago the side lower bolster was fraying which is rediculously early for this to even be happening considering the roughest clothing that touches it is denim. Any body else having issues with this?

I was very surprised to see this degree of wear after only 4000 miles.

My 2012 SE Sport has been in service for one year/10K miles and I do not see any evidence of fabric wear or "pilling". My impression has been that the SE Sport fabric upholstery and construction is pretty robust. Mine does not get any special treatment.

I would suspect a defect in the fabric or unusual chafing or wear pattern.

That's good to know. I think I might buy a set of these, I've been looking for some nice seat covers but haven't found anything I liked/could trust yet.

$150 huh. Not bad, not bad.

I've had my car about the same length of time (since May) and haven't noticed any wear yet on the sport seats. In fact, I feel like they're one of the high points of the car. I purposefully didn't want leather (didn't want to get heated seats, so they'd be too cold in the winter and too hot/sticky in summer).

I actually like the feel of the seat covers and they appear to be quite breathable and haven't gotten the sweaty back syndrome as bad with just the stock seats.

Yeah, I've experienced that annoying bit first hand. The seats are so grippy that on hot days when I wear a thin tanktop or something the fabric snags and it's skin-to-seat (not)goodness, LOL. :D

These seat covers include the back row, right?

I have a severe case of SBS with my leather. My shirt is soaking when I get out of my car on a given sunny day when it's like... 78 degrees out. It's really annoying, but perhaps something I should follow up with my doctor and not Ford. haha
