Just wondering, and sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't be bothered looking, but, can I fit my 2007 d-tec motor in to a z-tec car? The problem I face is getting my from las vegas where it is, to New Zealand is not cost effecient to me for I would have to change it from RHD to LHD and thats is not cheep. So after think on this for a few months I thought I could buy a 2007 focus over here (they are Z-tecs) and put all my gear on it. an engine swap would be less money then a complete swap of RHD to LHD. What do you guys know about all this? I'[m a bit limmited and I want to drive my car!.

I would think you could= motor & pcm & some labor. You don't like the Zetec?

short answer, yes. you have to swap every bit of engine,wiring over to new car.

I don't know if z-tec can compare to D-tec..lol J/k, but I have never driven one. The point is, I want my car even if it has to hav a new body. So to transfer engines I think would be more cost effecent than to start all over. I( have put alot of money into my car and I have hardly driven it. It only has 35k on it an it's an 07. The 2007 over there is a totally different car. They call it the Zetec but that is just a trim level, not the motor. There are multiple motors available but most are duratec-based. The Zetec itself hasn't been produced since 04.
