Maybe I'm asking the wrong questions I tend to do that.
I'm working on an MPG mod car. Would the SVT header conversion help with MPG?
I also want to get teh best sound possible out of the exhaust i'm going to be putting on, FSWerks Race.

It could... it "frees" up power so you engine does not have to work as hard, same thing with an intake. but the MPG increase will not be anywhere close to how much you spent.

but the best mod will be your foot. drive closer to 65MPH, don't use the AC below 50MPH roll the windows down instead. check your tire pressure and go with skinny tires next replacement. do regular maintenance, oil changes, spark plugs, etc. lowering may help a little bit in aerodynamics....

This.

You might see 1 or 2 mpg. But for the money spent not worth it.

Prob is most of my driving is rush hour. Throttle response is very important to me too. Currently I get 25 mpg "city" rush hour :) but I want 30

Can you work with your employer to change / shift your hours? Or even if you come in early and surf the internet and stay later to do something else... if you able to just shift your times going into work by 30 min to avoids traffic you will save loads. You will also notice less stop and go if you go 55 and just stay in the right lane... sure people will cut in front of you and it takes a lot of self control to stay off the gas but I bet you could see significant MPG results if you put the cruse control on 55 and kept it there.

You could get 32-35 if you stay under 60mph....

To do svt conversion not counting a new catback exhaust can easily be done for $500-$600.

As for mpg one of the biggest things in our cars is how you accelerate. If you do so aggressively your mileage will suffer alot. If you a very gradual/slow in acceleration your 25 could easily reach 30. Stop n go traffic is a tough one though. I drive pretty aggressively and average about 30-32 mpg.

I need more throttle response. and Torque to get the car moving faster easier. that will help alot. I always let the auto shift before 3k. well... not always. and I try my best to not road rage all over the place though sometimes its unavoidable and u just hafta pass a guy and throw your sonic slush at his windshield.

Doesn't make much sense to put a new header in and not do the exhaust. You're gonna be restricted at the exhaust and if you're gonna go through the trouble of cutting off exhaust bolts at the flex might as well do everything. The svt flex doesn't bolt up to the regular exhaust flange anyway unless you slot the bolt holes or replace the flange. Used Svt exhaust can be had for under $100 and it's 2 1/4 inch mandrel bent stainless steel. Unless you are putting in a turbo that will be plenty big.

And $500 is at the very low end if you can find everything used, but I suppose it's doable.

I wasn't going to do header before exhaust :P I just plan ahead. I'm going to do FSWerks Race Exhaust, and add a little flare to it, and do header at same time.
Roughly $1400 for H-E-I upgrades then :(
