What oil to get?
So I'm finally changing my own oil for the first time. Yes I have someone who knows what they're doing to help me haha.
Now I'm wondering what oil to get. I've just seen 2 different manuals because one says use a 5W-30, the other 5W-20. Matmatician recommended a few brands, and 5W-20 so I'm going to take this advice. My main question since I believe my warranty is still active, is if I should use the motorcraft formula which is recommended, or go with something like Valvoline or Mobil 1. I've got to get this oil tonight, not sure why but that's what I was told by the person helping me, so hopefully someone sees this! |

I personally use the Motocraft 5w-20, you can get a 5qt jug from Walmart for like 20 and a nice Motocraft oil filter! (FL-400)

Going with motorcraft stuff can't hurt, but I don't think using non-motorcraft will void your warranty... Nothing wrong with motorcraft though! If you really want to be on the safe side, for for it

Ok guys thanks for the input!
I actually ended up working late and couldn't get it, so now that I can (hopefully) get it today I will haha. Also I'm in need of the oil filter wrench, but since there's no time for an online order I can ask the guys at AutoZizone. |

They should be pretty cheap, its usually just a socket for a socket wrench. Or at least there is that option.

Another for Motorcraft Synthetic blend and a motorcraft filter.
The filter was horrible to change the first time (brand new). After that, I've always been able to remove the filter with my hand.

I only run mobil 1 full synthetic in my vehicles.
