how do i remove the antenna?

i tried twisting and that didnt feel right , how the hell do i get this off ???

also how do i go about shaving it down properly?

Take out the dome light #25 torx screw will remove antenna. If its like the one on my wagon.

lol thanks for the info , tho i got a little overzealous and snapped that shnit off by mistake , now theres just a teeeny nub , but the radio still works fine

Lol oops! :P I just used my multi tool and cut the antenna while it was still mounted. It's about a foot or more shorter now

Mine just unscrewed, hand power only. I sawed it about in half, the cut/drilled out the little rubber nub thing that was on top and super glued onto the newly shorted section.

yes , i can see that it somehow was supposed to be unscrewed , mustv been from inside the car . well its too late now and i also have a SUPER shorty antenna lol

i took the whole antenna off the base. now i have a vacuum plug on it, creating a stub antenna.

I had the same problem on my zx5. The antenna had become corroded and i had to take a pliers to it to get it off. But if your going with a shorty, I recommend the CFM Billet.
