Angry Battery? Altenator? Wiring?

2006 ZX4 2.0

Help!

Few days ago, my battery light came on on the dash. I didn't think anything of it. About 3 days later (yesterday) while driving my radio died and the screen said low battery. I figured I needed a new battery and would get one later that day.

About 30 min later while driving, same thing, radio goes out, but also this time the instrument panel goes dead for a few, then after a mile or so it would go live again. About 5 min later the car started struggling, bogging, reving. I knew it would die.
It died. I got a jump start and drove to AutoZone. Had them check the battery.

They stated that the battery was good (its only yr old), and the altanator was pretty good too. 13v..they said 14v was normal.
Car drove fine rest of day. went to work, came home. But went to leave again and it was dead.

I have no clue what the problem is then if the batter and altanator are good.
Sounds like the altanator only 'sometimes' isn't charging the battery.

Anyone got ideas?

Sounds like alternator to me , with everything jumping around like that . If you can get it started and have a volt meter check the voltage at the battery while its running . Should have around 13.8 to 14.2 . Or I'll say that's what my voltage meter says in my car when its running. But anything lower than that , alternator is gone out. Or you might get lucky and have some bad wiring that has been rubbing on something and causing it to short out and drain the battery .
That's all that I can think of right off the top of my head.

Auto zone did that all for me yesterday. They said everything was fine.
Said something like either it could be a sign for the alternator or maybe just the wiring...

Check your battery cables and grounds.

I don't mean just go look at them and say "Yep, they they are"
Disconnect and clean the terminal ends at the battery, check where the ground cables bolt to the chassis, check that the cables haven't corroded, hardened, or cracked.
