2002 Ford Focus SVT

Thought I would follow up.
I ordered a new solenoid. ($90 on Ebay)
Will replace it when it comes in...see if it truly is the problem. I read through some of the threads regarding the solenoid and there are some symptoms that could be related...

On a new note, I failed smog in my Pathfinder, so been driving it for the last 2 weeks. Finally passed smog, so went to start the Focus and the battery is dead after sitting 2 weeks...??? ...if it's not one thing...

Well, that is the world of owing a 10 year old car.

And the SVT is a baby once it starts to have issues.
And things go in domino effects when issues arise.

When my stock motor mount went out, needed all 3 of the bushings, well didn't really need, but if one went out ... the other's would follow soon. Just best to replace all.
When my alternator went out, I had to change that, the starter, the battery and the pigtail cables.
When my T-Belt busted the first time ... I had to get new pulleys, belts, O2 Sensors, fuel pump and fuel filter.
When my T-Belt busted the second time ... new head, so, new bushings, new gaskets, new bolts, new cams and new valves.

Yes the focus in general is actual like that ... so, don't be discouraged. But once you get everything back up and running with these small maintenance pieces ... you will be golden for sometime. Just take care of her, some off and on checks on the maintenance and she will take care of you for a long time.

Update:
Replaced the solenoid....did not help. Still had the code, so dropped it off at the mechanic.
That was a month ago. He called yesterday and says he can't figure it out....
I'm going to show him the FJ thread and see if he tried that.
I really don't like taking my cars to the stealership.
