Winter Package (Canada v/s US)

Hey all,

I ordered my 2013 Focus SE a few months back and added on the winter package for $350. It gave me heated seats and mirrors but did not include winter mats as advertised on the Ford.com website. Of course, checking Ford.ca, the Canadian package does not include all-weather mats. Not to mention, the American package retails for a little more than the Canadian ($900?).

Still sucks that I didn't get the winter mats that I was expecting but would be nice if the packages were uniform on both sides of the border. Considering we probably get more snow in Canada, I'm surprised the mats aren't included... Thoughts?

I also think it's a little dumb that the all-weather mats aren't included in the CDN package... But I got the salesman to throw them in for free with the sale of the car. And I bought my car pre-owned

No they were claiming it costs more in the u.s. for the winter package than it does in Canada, although where they were getting $900 usd I'm not sure as the list price for the winter package was less than $500 even in 2012.

Current list price on ford.com is $495 for the winter package in the u.s. It's $100 less in Canada to not include the rubber floor mats.

Maybe it's cheaper in Canada because it's a more sought after option and has to be competitively priced against similar models with similar options?

i do think if funny, tho, when companies, such as ford, will charge a diff amt or include/not include diff items in its packaging based on an invisible line on the earth. I live 15 minutes from quebec, we have the same weather , etc, yet my winter pkg is both priced and equipped differently. So if decisions are made based on climate or geographic location it just doesn't make sense to me.

You aren't missing much by not getting the winter mats---they're basically useless. I bought a set of Husky Liners--much better coverage/protection than the OE ones.

You're not missing anything.

The OEM mats didn't last a year for me. The rubber is so soft that the heel of my tennis shoe wore a hole in it clear down to the carpet. I threw them out and will buy Weather Techs when Winter rolls around this year.

I just purchased the OEMs and yeah, they don't look too durable... But I like that they fit perfectly though.
