Can't say much about my Focus, but when our family dumped our Explorer (slowly developing transmission issues) we got about 1000 more than the dealer at trade-in.

Yea I saw carmax selling basically my car with 35k miles for 19500 I hear they would buy for roughly 3-4k less than they sell it for. My cousin sold his 2010 accord for 18 and they sell similar for 21300 so sounds about right.

You might have trouble seeing more than 14k even with lower miles as the trade values aren't great on these cars, especially within the first year.

That also assumes a clean car fax report, and didn't you have rear impact damage? If there was a police report it may show up and negatively impact the value even worse.

They'll still take vehicles with damage and just auction them off. We had a bumper with a couple scratches and a small dent and they just auctioned it off right away.

I'm not saying they wouldn't buy it, but to expect that their offer would probably be lower if they do an inspection/ pull a vehicle history report with this information on it. Although the general gist of the offers I've seen or heard in general on trade are usually less than what you might expect given how close to sticker they try to re-sell the cars for.
