I debadge because it makes it a lot easier to wax the hatch; it also visually declutters the rear of the car.

In my case, it didn't help that the OEM Focus emblem was pulling up already, either.

I saved everything for if and when I go to sell or trade the car. Did the same with my last car, as well.

Because debadging is something only younger people do. Right?
yep. of course the mid-life crisis guys might do it too . usually the debadged vehicles also have other modifications that suggest youth.

just sayin' dude .

If I do change my mind, Team Ford Parts has the 2012 Focus emblem selling for around $20, so it is an easy five minute fix to make it look stock again. Also, the focus emblem was about to fall off anyway, so what the hell.

Notice that none of the Focus models in the pictures in this article have any Focus emblems on them.

OTOH, the Focus models in this article do have Focus emblems on them,

I think they look good either way.
probably cloned off in photoshop by the guy that took those snazzy shots. it's no secret that the focus is targeted at a young audience. ambient lighting, 10 speaker stereo with subwoofer and instrumentation that's hard to read even with glasses .

The more I read, the more it sounds like you should be driving a Toyota Corolla.

I don't think debadging a car screams "young person" really at all but it's a trend that started back in the '90s so it's not new and works better on some cars more than others.

I just ordered another emblem from Team Ford Parts. If I get tired of the debadged look, I'll slap them back on.

I guess I am young and wouldn't mind being called kid but to me it makes it clean looking to not have all those badges on it. I mean look at older "classic" cars if you will most will have 1 badge on the back. Not like today where put a piece of plastic to denote every option in your car. I love the way the debadged focus looks, really clean and simple. I think it makes it look more sporty. Plus with the cheap tape they use on them anyway they are just going to fall off anyway as much as I wash it.

Is it just me, or does it seem that the current Corolla body style has been out for a hell of a long time?

My wife and I have bought quiet a few new vehicles in the past several years and every time we look at a Corolla, it still looks the same as it did before.

I like the clean look when debadged. What's the point of the badge anyway? Telling people what options/packages you car has or doesn't have?
