I can understand why you would feel that this is what has had the impact on your mileage, but most people with intakes have reported lower mileage. This is mainly because the additional air requires additional fuel. The snorkel delete is only going to be truly effective for those with a closed box system.

The steeda intake still utilizes one of the two stock inlet tubes though doesn't it? The other is plugged with the supplied rubber puck.

In a closed box design, the only air that enters the engine must come through the radiator support. By shortening the intake tract, the engine has a shorter 'straw' to suck through. I even found *with my commute and driving style* that when I Newmissioned my intake I actually saw CAI intake mileage (worse mileage). The reason this thread exists is because of the dyno testing I did on my car through various intake changes. I found no power increase by replacing the OEM filter with K&N drop-in filter but with further dyno-testing I found that removing the snorkel in-conjunction with the K&N that there was indeed a power increase. Transversely, there is no power increase by removing the snorkel and keeping the OEM filter as they are designed to work together quite well. Some members didn't understand what I was speaking of or how to remove it so I created the thread to illustrate.

If you are on the stock filter, it isn't in terms of power. Idk in regards to mileage.
If you have an aftermarket filter then the combo should be good for approximately 10hp, 10 ft lb. My best dyno showed 12/11. If you are running an aftermarket filter with the snorkel you will have better throttle response but a negligible power increase.

I WILL correct you.

He's saying the gains would be negligible compared to the cheaper K&N drop-in and snorkel delete. Cost v. gain.

Ehhh. I don't know about gain but you might experience more throttle response. But in the HP dept. I don't know that I'd use the word "gain."
