So does a Mazdaspeed 3 but it's still not better than the GTI in many ways.

Have you driven the ST, Mazdaspeed 3, and the GTI for extended periods of time?

I'm not disappointed at all.

The reality is that in 99% of normal everyday driving, the extra HP / better handling buys you *nothing*. The road that I do 40 MPH on in one car is the road that I will do 40 MPH on in any car.

In any case, the ST is not exactly a performance monster so it's nothing to get so excited about. One could say that a ST owner should never drive a Mustang GT...
I myself come from a 2006 Mustang GT and a 2007 Mazadaspeed3. While I do miss the power sometimes, my Focus is still a blast to drive and I love it. But when you compare a stock Focus to an ST, my guess is the ST would still be a bit more fun to drive.
