Rims bent Caliper?
My father in-law said he had some rims from a tempo that should fit my 2000 ford focus. We put them on and went to drive away and the car would not budge. the inside of the rim was hitting the caliper. we put the old tires back on and now when i drive there like a thud thud thud sound which goes away when i press on the brakes. So did we bend the caliper? I need some input before i go buy a new caliper tomorrow and waste money. thanks for any input.

Bought the slider pins, wasn't it, bought a caliper, wasn't it then i noticed the brake pads wire clip was not over the caliper nubby part. that was causing the front end of the caliper to wobble. Had to buy a new set of brake pads, fixed the problem. 80 dollar brake pads over one silly wire clip.
Thanks for everyone's input. |

Its a little late now but I think you can get the clips from rock auto for just a few bucks.

I only changed the one side brake pads because by the end i was tired. The other side pads are pretty new, 1 year maybe only are almost as thick as the new one. Do i HAVE to change the other side as well or can i just leave it and call it done? thanks
