First oil change what doy ou recomend synthetic or blend?

I have a 2012 SEL sedan automatic. Curious to know what you guys think i should use? I live in SoCal. Curious to know the cost difference getting it installed at the dealership. I know i can get a regular oil change for around $25 when they have the promos. How much more in full synthetic? and is it worth it to go for it? thanks in adavance.

If you're going full synthetic you are best served by doing it yourself in the garage, but if you're not comfortable with this then you'll just have to pay two to three times as much for them to do it for you. They would likely charge a huge premium, and then still only use a lower level oil than you could purchase yourself.

The semi-synthetic oil that comes factory fill likely won't in fact harm anything if you continue to change it on time.

I sure i could do it myself i never have done one before, but i dont have a jack, and im kind of scared to mess something up on my new car i bought :( this is my first NEW car i have ever purchased. Although im sure i can do it. Anyone in SoCAL wanna do an oil change clinic? lol

Does ford allow you to bring your own oil in?

That would depend on the dealer, since its not Ford that can say what the dealer will do when a customer brings in parts and oil.

oh i see so i would just have to call and ask the service dept about that and the cost.

Or, you may get lucky and come across an oil and filter special offer from our dealer. We just got one for a $21.95 "Motorcraft Premium Synthetic Blend Oil and Filter Change" that's good through 12/25/12. Check the dealer's website for offers, too.

Yea i wanted to try and get full synthetic blend oil though.

I personally use synthetic Mobil 1. I bought my car used, and the previous owner apparently didn't know oil changes were mandatory, which means I got to replace the engine at 73000 miles. I have been paranoid about my engine ever since. I do a full synthetic oil change every 3k miles, which I'm sure just about everyone on here will tell you is way overkill. Changing the oil on a focus isn't hard at all though! Well, at least at the 1.5 generations. Haven't done one on the new ones.
