Factory Exhaust removal
For the ones that have replaced their factory exahust with an aftermarket unit, how did you remove the factory exahust system? Looking into the workshop manual states to cut the exhaust in 2 places to remove the exahust system. I would really like to avoid this in the case I sell the car and want to install the factory exahust. I would hate to reinstall the factory exahust using clamps to hold them in. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated. The only way I see this being done is to drop the whole rear subframe and all but that seems a little too excessive.

You could remove the rear suspension and then remove the exhaust without cutting it. But short of that, I think cutting is your only option.

thanks for the replies. I dont mind dropping the rear subframe as I have lift access here at the dealer I work at but come to think of it I can always reinstall the factory exahust & use pipe clamps and such.

Jist like the svt... If u dont cut u will not get it out. A good muffler shop should be able to stitch it back up for cheap

Just cut it before it goes over the subframe and later you can re-install with a band clamp. Will look 90% factory and won't require you to bleed the brakes and get an alignment each time.
