Turn Signal Button

Okay folks, I may be brain dead but my wife asked me about a button on the end of the turn signal lever that I have never paid attention to. It is a button that pushes in on the end of the lever and I can't for the life of me see that it does anything. I looked all through the owner's manual and never saw anything. This may be one of those things that is so simple that you will feel stupid when someone knows the answer. What the heck is this button for? And yes, I tried the Search feature here, went through the manual and all the other usual "let's push it and watch what happens. Nothing!! Any ideas? Mine is the 2012 Titanium, May 2nd build date.

Are you thinking of the Windshield wiper side (on the right) with the button on the end? That controls the the rear window wiper.

Ditto. Unless you have a sedan, with a mystery button

I have a SEL hatchback... no button on my turn signal lever, but I do have one on right side (Wipers) & it controls the rear wiper.

Isn't the turn signal on the left side ? Well, here in North America at least?

You got me curious and I went outside to check my SEL Sedan and I have no buttons on the end of both arms...left and right.

The way the plastic is molded make it looks like there is somekind of switch or button, but nothing moves on mine. Sorry.

No button on the left stalk. There is a rocker switch on the end of the right stalk.

Must be the "Cloaking Device" option.

Guess I will have to take a picture then!!! No, it is the left side, the turn signal lever. I know the right side is the wipers. It is on the turn signal and I never knew it was there or what it did until the wife asked me. Heck, I couldn't answer the question and still can't!! It is black and doesn't stand out as a button but is a definite momentary pushbutton type. Now I am really curious!! Mine is the Hatchback, May 2nd build date, Titanium with DCT.

Ok, here is a picture. It has some sort of symbol on the turn signal front side facing the driver. Looks like a box with dotted lines on either side. It is a momentary pushbutton, not a rocker.

I don't really know, but I think over in Europe our cars can come with a lane reminder system. I would guess that you somehow got the stalk for a car that has that system. Weird.
