Possibly upgrading to interior mood lights.

I bought some used leather seats off of a guy on Craigslist and had him throw in the center console. Wasent til later that I noticed that the console was equipped with the led lights for the optional interior lighting package. My question is how do they normally opperate and has anyone tries doing the retrofit. My biggest concern is that I know there was a way to switch the color so I can't imagine its as easy as just supplying power. Any insight is welcome.

I am sure if you find a 2nd gen with the button on the center console, you can see where it leads and take it out of a junk car or buy the parts from Ford.

So, I'm finally getting around to looking at the parts again. All of the leds have the wiring hooked up to them, then it looks like it goes to a small black box, then one final wire set come down to a grey connector, either a two wire or some kind of weird conection. I'm guessing this would be where it takes its imput from the button and power. Anybody else familiar with this and/or what I'm missing? I haven't been able to see in the diagram where the button actually mounts so I'm kind of in the dark on it.

On a side note, I got some more interior pieces and turns out I now have the part with the button for the truck pop. I'm not too worried about it since I have it on my key fob, but it'll be interesting to see if there's a connector for it behind that panel.

Edit: Alright, found where the button for the ambient light goes. I'll have to see if the wires are all there to just plug and play with the system.

I would be interested to know how hard it is to install a push button (besides keyfob) trunk release in an '08.

I removed my stock panel to see if I'd get lucky and have the wire there, no dice. I'll dig into my book and see what I can find.

You have a very weirdly option foci, I have yet to see a 08/11 with "my color"I know you got it off a wrecked foci but you'll have a hard time finding a wrecked one in a junkyard that has this option.

I installed the center console earlier today and the wire was right on the front of the gear selector frame. I'm ordering the proper button for the dash that should activate the lights and keep my traction control happy.

Nothing new about the trunk button for under the dash. Installed the panel since it matches my new black interior, but couldn't find a wire to hook it up to.

Now, for the new development. Right now I'm switching my airbags over to the leather seats I picked up since it had one blown already. It looks like these seats are also have heat built in. They also cut the wires underneath. I have a yellow and a white wire connecting the back and bottom heaters coming to a connector. They then turn into a purple/green wire leading to a 20amp relay and a white/black going no where. Lastly, coming out of the relay is a yellow/blue, pink/purple, and green/brown. Long story short, this should be fun. Any ideas are welcome.
