2005 ZX3 wont turn over
Hey guys need some help I have an 05 zx3 5speed will not turn over most of the time. I'm stuck been looking around on some of the forums. So things I have a check or replaced.
battery fully charged new alternator new starter checked the clutch pedal switch and was good lights do not dim when I try to start I do hear a click under the dash no security system issue It will sometimes just turn over and start right up. So for right now I am push starting it to get to and from work and runs fine no Any help would be great Thanks |

Problem could be in the ignition cyclinder.

I forgot to mention that I have a push button starter mounted in the dash that is run in parallel with the ignition cylinder. Its spliced into the wire loom. Using that it will not start ether. I test both and bothhave and are sending power.

So an update would not turn over was able to push start it now the battery light was on for the whole trip to work unless I was over 3k rpm then should turn off after a Minute at tat rpm. any suggestions ?

If the battery light was on , maybe you can get it to a parts store and have them check for codes other than that it could be a loose or chaffed wire in your charging system . I would check everything from the battery to alternator and starter.

That makes me think the ign switch and interlocks are not the problem, the click is the starter relay under the dash.
For some reason that relay is not activating the solenoid built into the starter, or the power circuit for the starter motor does not have continuity. Battery cables, grounds, the fuseable link. The signal is being sent, the starter is not responding. |

well drove home last night after push starting it at work and drove it right into the local shop. There gonna take a look at it and call me with what is wrong hopefully. I will post what happens

Mechanic told me starter was bad. The new I just put on took it off and bench tested it it was fine. gonna take back and have them take another look at it.
