Changing ZTEC motor in 2000 Focus
Can anyone help me with a problem a buddy of mine is having changing the ZTEC motor in his 2000 Focus ZX3. It is a 5 spd car and he got a 02 motor that was a auto and now it will not start. It is having a code about the crankshaft sensor. I looked at it for him and see that the sensor goes into the block at a angle in the old engine and straight in on replacement engine. I also see that the part that the sensor goes in looks as if it can be taken out form the flywheel side be removing one bolt so am I right in thinking that the one on the replacement engine will do the same and that he needs to take it back apart to swap this from the old engine that was 5spd to the new block to aim the sensor at the flywheel in the correct angle.

Gotta at the very least pull the transmission out to change it. This is a very common mistake to make.
