I have a 2000 Focus SE, manual trans, 2.0 SPI motor and I cannot figure out which speed sensor I need and none of my auto parts stores know anything about it. Can anyone here tell me off the top of their head which type of VSS I'm going to need for my focus? I know theres a gear driven sensor and a non gear driven sensor. I think it's the non gear driven type but I'm really not sure? Also are they the same for Ztech and SPI or different?

Just changed mine on my 01 ZX3, 2.0 DOHC, manual trans. Turned out to be the gear driven sensor. Got mine from O'Reillys for 50 bucks. They didn't have it in stock when I went to the store but they got one for me from there parts store in just a few hours.. Only way I figured out which one I needed though was to actually get under the car and look at the original one.. If I recall correctly the non-gear driven ones are held in by a pin while the gear driven ones are held in by a T30 torx bolt, I think it was. Hope this helps.
