ever change a shiftcable in 01zx3?

I purchased a shifter cable for my 01zx3 (attaches to the shifter through floor board to tranny) ..mine was stretched and someone attempted to fix it before I got the car..has anyone ever changed one? It's not lookin fun lol thanks

02 SVT Black: MSD coil pack and 8.5 mm wires, Steeda Sri and 2.5 " cat back exhaust,ORP, CFM 65 mm throttle body(Deer claimed it)
02 Sonic Blue: Accel coil, msd wires, magnaflow exhaust, steeda sri, sct w/tom's tune.
